We’re thrilled Jenny Peterson is continuing her story that first began in PROM DATES TO DIE FOR. We (and readers!) liked it so much, we asked her to continue it on in SOMETHING WICKED. And then we wanted to know what happens next? So readers! Readers! You will soon get, not one, but THREE, digital novellas to know what happens to BFF demon hunters, Rachel and Kendra. In PROM, they wanted a night to remember and ended up fighting for their lives – and learning their true nature – Rachel is a Descendant, a demon hunter, and Kendra is half-demon.

In WICKED, they are joined by Descendant Sidney, who battles a new threat – sirens.

In the Descendants trilogy: Creature Discomforts (Fall 2013), Eat Your Heart Out (Spring 2014), Demon Over Easy (Summer 2014)

Best friends Rachel and Kendra are well past ready for things to go back to normal … or as normal as it can get for a demon hunter and a half-mermaid. College is supposed to be about study sessions and sneaking beer, not fighting monsters, right? But when co-eds on campus start disappearing, Rachel, Kendra and fellow demon hunter/annoyance extraordinaire Sid start investigating. The closer they get to the truth, the more they realize there’s something hiding in the Georgia mountains that is much older and deadlier than your everyday demon. Forget studying for finals, these three need to fight just to survive.

About the author:

Jenny Peterson is a writer and editor based in Denver, CO. Reading and writing YA (and new adult!) is her first love, and she spends an inordinate amount of time dreaming up fantastical worlds for her ass-kicking heroines. Jenny also splits her time as an editorial assistant for a YA publisher. When not writing or editing, Jenny enjoys hiking in the mountains, checking out local restaurants, and traveling. She lives in an old Victorian house with her husband and two lazy tabbies. Learn more about Jenny at www.jennycoonpeterson.com and follow her on Twitter @JenC_P.
Behind the cover:
Executive editor and creative director Malena Lott and author Jenny discussed the story elements and how the cover could stand out and be different from the sea of YA and New Adult covers out there. First, they looked at illustrations, but none of them were “just right.” Lott then suggested photos that captured the water element. This one best provided not only the right feel, but provided a beautiful color palette to work with. The model is the right age (college/young adult). Again, hundreds of fonts later, this cursive title font best showed off the lighter nature of the book and the series and author font provides a crisp balance. That dagger is the signature icon and is used in demon hunting. We hope you like it!
